How i do my rolls.. So I didnt have any big plans for the day.. and since I've had a couple of girls ask how I do my rolls... I thought I'd try a lil tutorial. Hope I tried my best to provide pics and explain this hairdo:
please excuse my roots =/
My hair .. not done, not clean.. its about the 3rd day since i've washed it.. so its got (Big sexy hair) hairspray buildup in it.

Hair on top is not too long.. when down, shortest layer is probably 2 in away from the top of my ears.. and you can see my bangs falling from wat I'm holding.. so theyre not that long either.

Section off hair in 3 sections. One triangle on each side. From side of forhead back toward the topback of head, to right behind the ear. And the top section being a large rectangle.

Large rectangular section. I didnt go all the way to the top back of the head.. just past the center.. as since my hair is short on top.. i like to leave some hair out to give volume to the back of the hair when its all done and down.

Now starting with one triangular section, we're gonna start curling. I spray a heat protectant w/light hold beforehand.. today i used Joico's Color Endurance Thermal Styling spray.. Starting at the point of the triangle, take a smaller subsection.. try to take the section somewhat parallel to the bottom of the triangle (the hairline). So you're going to be curling at a diagonal.. and AWAY from the face. I use a Babyliss Pro ONE inch curling iron.

After each subsection is curled, pin it down in place w/a bobby pin. You can see here I have 5 subsections within the triangular side section. And you can tell that theyre at a diagonal

Front view

Both side triangular sections curled and pinned

left side. neater. you can see the 5 subsections better.

Top view. Comb out top rectangular section.

Within the rectangular sections, take smaller subsections and curl diagonally. I curled them toward MY right. (to the left in the pic). Dont forget to pin down

Top view.

I start with my right side. Take out all the pins from the subesections of the one triangle. Brush all the curls together.

This is how you want it to look when brushed out. See how it gathers, and sorta from a loose hanging roll.

I backbrushed (tease, backcombed) the inside part(
the hair that will make the inside of the roll..while holding the section up, its the hair that faces the back of the head) of that whole section at the roots.

pick the section up and bring it to the back a lil.. like as if you were going to do a pigtail.. the rest of the hair should hang down, but still curled all together.. see the ringlet. Thats when you gather up the ringlet with your fingers..like pinching.. and tuck it under the rest of the hair... its sorta like a chinese yo-yo.. see it hanging there? - gather it up and stick it inside. (haha lame analogy) This is why i say curling beforehand helps a whole lot.. cuz it sort of just rolls its self.

still holding everything, sticking the ringlet into the roll... or you can even hold the ringlet around one finger and roll it around and use your forefinger and thumb to adjust tightness of the roll. .. i belive thats what im doing in this pic.

right side pinned down. (ya i see a hole there... i dont like holes, so i tend to fix those once i get everything placed)

left side brushed out

pick up as if its gonna be a tail and bring back a bit... curls are still in tact. see how it pretty much rolled itself? you just gotta use those fingers and tighten it up.

top rectangular section.. pins come out, and brush out to the right.

gather up the ringlet and roll. but i like a lil more volume.. sooo i gotta backbrush

split the front section in 1/2 or thirds or fourths... and backbrush the inside (looking @ the pic, it would be to the left of the subsection I'm holding) of the subsection.

Smooth out and roll and pin. If you have any holes or flyaway, now is the time to go back and adjust now that you have everything placed.

bobby pin placement in one of the side rolls. one towards the front and one in the back. I'd try to stick them in farther.. but since i have that "fringe" roll... it pretty much hides em.

right side view

right front view. its a lil hard to hide a black pin in pink hair.. especially when my bangs are short =/

Now throw on some red lipstick and you're good to go!
I hope this was explained well and thoroughly. I tried my best!! If any of you have any Q's.. just ask! =)
